Question: “Is acupuncture safe?”

As long as it is performed by a competent practitioner, acupuncture is extremely safe. Acupuncturists are required to use disposable needles that are discarded after one use.

Question: “What conditions are treated with acupuncture?”

Many conditions, including but not limited to:

Question: ”Does acupuncture hurt?”

No, acupuncture should not hurt. A momentary prick is often felt around the needle as it is inserted, eventually creating a dull pressure or tingling around the area during the treatment. Most people are amazed by how relaxed they feel during and after the treatment. This can only occur if the treatment is comfortable and gentle.

This is unique to the individual. For most chronic conditions, 5-7 treatments on a weekly basis tends to offer the best outcome. Some people notice an immediate improvement in their health while for others acupuncture tends to have a cumulative effect over several visits.

Q.”How many treatments will I need?”

Yes, we have an extensive Chinese herbal pharmacy that consists primarily of patent herbal formulas that comes as granulated capsules or tablets.
The clinic also offers customized herbal powdered blends that are made into a tea.

Q. “Does the clinic offer Chinese herbs? If so, what kind?”

Chinese herbal medicine is an ancient, highly elaborate system of natural healing that has been used by billions of people for all kinds of health conditions.
We have a comprehensive herbal pharmacy of patents formulas, tinctures, and granulars. We use mostly Chinese herbs but do use a number of Western and Amazon herbs as well.
Chinese herbal medicine is a wonderful complement to acupuncture treatment, as it works on different substrates in the body and maintains continuity in therapeutic intervention.
Acupuncture works on the level of energy by harmonizing the flow of Qi through the main energetic pathways of the body. Quantum physics has verified that our entire material world is comprised of energy, as is the human body. Acupuncture is so unique because it is one of the few therapies that can manipulate the flow of energy in the body and mind to produce a therapeutic effect. In acupuncture theory, until chronic health conditions are addressed on the energetic level, the root cause or problem will often be neglected.
Chinese herbs work more on the level of blood and manifest physiology.
The herbs contain macro and micronutrients that can have specific therapeutic effects on certain organs of the body, such as the liver or kidneys. By working on both the immaterial and material levels, the treatment of acupuncture with herbs is much more effective and lasting.

Q. “What forms of payment are accepted?”

A. We are now an in-network provider with BCbs, Uhc and optum. There are some companies that cover acupuncture as an out-of-network provider. Please note that not all plans within bcbs include acupuncture. we are able to verify benefits for you. Please give us a call to get the process started.
